I'm making my first visit to El Sardinero on Sunday 19 September for the match with Real Zaragoza. I will be writing about Racing and the matchday experience.

I have a FEW questions:

1) What is the best bar to meet with fans Before the match for a beer ? The best bar is on the own stadium, I can't remember now it's name because it was changed last year, but is not difficult to find, the only one in the stadium.

2) Who are Racing 's Rivals ? Is there any rivalry with Zaragoza? There is no rivalry with Zaragoza. Racing's principal rivals are Athletic Bilbao, and Sporting Gijón because of proximity, maybe Getafe because something that happened a few years ago, and Real Madrid and Barcelona because they are the most difficult rivals.

3) Will it be easy for me to buy tickets on the day of the match ? I'm sure you won't have problems.

4) Is it Likely to be Played on a Saturday or a Sunday ? Most probably it will be on Sunday, but until 10 days before the match it's no sure.

5) Which is the best part of the stadium for me to go in? It depends on how much you want to pay. In 'Tribuna' you won't be wet.

6) Is there anything about the club you would like to let fans of England know about in my report. All we get is Real Madrid and Barcelona over here (ZZZzzzz). I'd like to let people know that 'Racing existe'! I think the most interesting thing to know for England's fans is that Racing is an innovator. The first team in Spain that was broadcasted live on tv, the first team in Spain with sponsor on the shirt, the first team that contracted a foreing player...

1) ¿Cuál es el mejor bar para tomar una cerveza y conocer a los aficionados antes del partido?

6) ¿Hay algo que os gustaría que incluyera en mi artículo para que los aficionados de Inglaterra lo conozcan? Aquí solo tenemos noticias del Real Madrid y del Barcelona (¡qué aburrimiento!). Me gustaría que la gente supieraque «el Racing existe».

Another great video of the Racing fans. I'm really getting to learn about the club and the fans on here which is great.

I've made it my mission to learn the words and the song of 'Fuente de Cacho' so I can sing it with you lads on the day of the match. No problem after a few beers!

Colin and others - thanks for the answers to my questions. Really useful for my article on Racing. European Football Weekends is read by over 20,000 people a month from around the world, so hopefully I can spread the word of Racing to some new fans.

Hey Danny! hard to believe you're a foreign editor after the match, but even if you aren't I can share a beer with you nonetheless! If you wanna contact with me, use a private message.

Now onto your questions:

1) Santander is spiked with bars, inside and outside the city you got some really nice places to have a beer. I like the Taberna Celta or the Cormorán, which is near the arena.

2) Our longest going rival is Athletic Bilbao, due to its proximity (80 kms east of the capital). Sporting Gijón on the other hand is not much of an antagonist, their coach is from Cantabria and there's some warm feelings between the teams, and some discordant voices as well.

Other infamous teams include Getafe FC (a recent story of rivalry due to some "treacherous" player). As for Zaragoza, I kinda like the team, but will feel relieved to have them beaten - this was the destination of the coach that had us qualify for EFA Cup back in 2008, another case of lack of loyalty of sorts. He also got a couple of players follow him, like Jorge López, an important asset in the midfield.

3) You will likely find place to accomodate yourself, as the arena doesn't easily get filled. I think tickets are conveniently sold on match's day. I have the season's pass though.

4) Most likely on Sunday, but I can't tell for certain just yet. Details are given with small anticipation.

5) I'm in the lower southern end, the cheapest. You would do better in eastern or western ends, the upper side is called "Tribuna" and the lower "Preferencia".

6) Well we are a modest team but have tasted Europe once and now we're armed with Markus! We're some traditional team of the middle of the table, though we've had had some good places in the League. We're always struggling to achieve more, but circumstances are not helping. Not any luck with trades I'm afraid. I kinda ignore everything about Premier League but we could compare to West Ham United (honors!) or Sunderland, I think.

The forum pals have told you a lot of useful information. I am a Racing fan who lives in Madrid , and here it is not much info in the media about my team.
But here in Madrid it is said (and it is a fact) that everytime Real Madrid won the Champions League they always had a player from Cantabria in their staff(Gento, Amavisca, Helguera and Munitis). In fact, a lot of players from Racing were signed for Real Madrid, lately: Garay and Canales.
